A leaked audio recording has implicated members of Rebel Wilson's crisis public relations team in discussions about a plan to smear a Hollywood producer by portraying her as a sex trafficker. The recording has intensified an already active legal dispute tied to Wilson's directorial debut, 'Deb'.

The case dates to 2024, when Wilson posted a video accusing the film's producers of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the production budget and of engaging in inappropriate behaviour with lead actress Charlotte MacInnes. The legal proceedings have continued since, and the recording has added a new dimension to an already contentious dispute.

Leaked Audio Raises Serious Allegations

The recording captures a conversation between public relations strategist Jed Wallace and publicist Melissa Nathan, in which Wallace proposes framing film producer Amanda Ghost as a 'madame' who facilitated sexual encounters for wealthy men. 'So, basically, what we need to do is we need to create a path where we expose Amanda Ghost. Amanda Ghost is like the new Heidi Fleiss. She masquerades as a... the reason why she sucks so bad at music is because she's actually getting hookers Vlotnik, right? And that's what she does,' Wallace said. He added that minor reputational criticism would not be sufficient and that the campaign needed to be tied to something as serious as sex trafficking. The audio represents the most direct evidence yet of a coordinated effort to damage Ghost's reputation outside the courtroom.

Rebel Wilson vs Amanda Ghost

Ghost is a British music executive who served on 'Deb' in a producing capacity and has maintained that Wilson's public accusations have caused significant damage to her professional standing. Shortly before the audio became public, a website titled 'Amanda Ghost is a Destroyer of Worlds' appeared online before being taken down. The site was presented as a whistleblower account targeting Ghost's reputation. Wilson has denied any involvement in its creation or management. Ghost's legal representative, Camille Vasquez, disputed that denial, saying the team had long suspected Wilson's involvement. 'We, however, had long suspected that she not only contributed to the malicious sites but that she was the driving force behind them. The evidence we have submitted to the court in California supports that conclusion,' Vasquez said.

Connections to Other Hollywood PR Controversies

The recording is notable in part because of the individuals it involves. Wallace and Nathan are known for working alongside Bryan Freedman, who served as Wilson's lawyer at the time. Freedman is also known as Justin Baldoni's attorney in his case against Blake Lively. Wallace and Nathan were also part of Baldoni's crisis communications team, which faced accusations of orchestrating a smear campaign against Lively. The Baldoni case drew significant public attention after Lively filed a legal complaint accusing his team of targeting her reputation during the press campaign for their film. Reports indicate that Baldoni's publicist Jennifer Abel texted Nathan suggesting Baldoni wanted Lively to feel as though she could be buried.

To date, Wilson has not issued a statement regarding the recording, and it is unclear whether she has been made aware of it. She is currently promoting an upcoming film scheduled for release in Australia.
