Rhode Island Ice Rink Shooting: Daughter Says Robert Dorgan's Rampage Targeted Family in Specific 'Vendetta'
Amanda Wallace-Hubbard sheds light on her father's motives in a tragic family attack.

Amanda Wallace-Hubbard, the daughter of transgender killer Robert Dorgan, has provided new details regarding her father's rampage motives in a phone interview with WPRI on Tuesday. According to her, Dorgan's hockey arena attack was driven by a vendetta against his family, especially herself and her sons.
'I just want to make sure people understand this was one person's vendetta against their family,' She said. 'We were targeted. This was very specific. It wasn't random.'
Vendetta-Inspired Grudge Leads to Family Attack
Dorgan, who identified as Roberta, reportedly fired — using a Glock 10mm and a SIG Sauer P226 — at his ex-wife, Rhonda Dorgan, who died at the scene, and one of their sons, Aidan Dorgan, who died in hospital.
Others involved in the fatality include Dorgan's ex-wife's parents, Linda and Gerald Dorgan, who have the same last name as him, and Thomas Geruso, a family friend, as reported by Pawtucket Chief of Police Tina Goncalves.

However, while these were exposed to Dorgan's attack, they are yet alive and remain in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital as of Tuesday afternoon. Colin Dorgan, another of Dorgan's sons with his ex-wife, was also in the arena at the time of the attack but managed to flee the rink unharmed.
Divorce Feud and Earlier Temperament Leading Up to the Day of Attack
Dorgan, who Wallace-Hubbard described as 'very sick,' underwent a gender reassignment surgery in 2020, which resulted in a bitter divorce battle with his ex-wife in the same year.
According to reports, this feud was the most likely reason for Dorgan's vendetta attack on his ex-wife and their kids, as court documents reveal Rhonda Dorgan's reason for filing a divorce was 'gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic and personality disorder traits,' after which she allegedly claimed her divorce filing was due to 'irreconcilable differences.'
Dorgan's former co-workers corroborated Wallace-Hubbard's earlier comment on her father's mental health by citing a bad temper and occasions of screaming matches with others.
According to one co-worker, Dorgan wasn't always proud of his gender transition as he expressed mixed sentiments, which sometimes involved feelings of embarrassment.
Meanwhile, police note that the 56-year-old shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene after being surrounded by at least three bystanders, who rushed to subdue him in an attempt to prevent further casualties.
Wallace-Hubbard Thanks Hero Who Saved Her and Sons
Wallace-Hubbard remains grateful to an unidentified good Samaritan, whom she credits for saving herself and her kids, as she believes they were the next victims of Dorgan's attack.
'I think my biggest concern was for my two small sons, who witnessed what occurred between our family members,' she said. 'Until that good Samaritan incapacitated him, I really feared that my sons were next.'
'I can't thank him enough. I'm certain my sons and I are alive because of him,' she added.
Wallace-Hubbard has set up a GoFundMe fundraiser, hoping to raise 300,000 USD for Robert and Rhonda Dorgan's surviving children, Ava and Colin. As of the time of this writing, over 191,000 USD has been raised. According to her, Ava is in nursing school, while Colin has been accepted to Bryant University.
'I want to honor Rhonda and Aidan's legacy, pray for Linda and Jerry and Tommy, and continue to support Ava and Colin going forward,' Wallace-Hubbard said. She has also expressed her gratitude to Rhode Island's hockey community for their support throughout the gruesome episode.
