Who Is The 11-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Bullied By Chappell Roan? Jude Law’s Daughter All Smiles After ‘Aggressive’ Row Instagram/@catcavelli

Jude Law's 11-year-old daughter was all smiles on Sunday when her mother, Catherine Harding, shared photographs of the young girl beaming alongside Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi backstage at Lollapalooza Brazil in São Paulo; just one day after Chappell Roan's security guard allegedly left the child in tears during a hotel breakfast confrontation that rapidly became an international story.

The row erupted on the morning of Saturday 21 March, at a hotel in the Brazilian city where the Grammy-winning pop star was staying ahead of her headline slot at the festival. Jorginho; the Brazilian-Italian footballer currently at Flamengo, and stepfather to the girl widely identified in media reports as Ada Law; published a lengthy and pointed account on his Instagram story, accusing a member of Roan's entourage of speaking in an 'extremely aggressive' manner to his wife and young stepdaughter.

Ada's biological father is The Holiday actor Jude Law, who shares her with Harding, also known professionally as Cat Cavelli.

What Jorginho Said About the Chappell Roan Hotel Row

Jorginho described a scene that, by any measure, would unsettle any parent. His stepdaughter had woken that morning buzzing with anticipation; she had made a handmade sign for Roan when, entirely by chance, the singer walked past their table during breakfast. The girl did nothing more than recognise her, glance over to confirm it was really her, smiled, and then returned to her meal.

What followed, according to Jorginho, bore absolutely no relation to that. A large security guard approached their table and accused the child of disrespecting and harassing the singer.

'She didn't say anything, didn't ask for anything,' Jorginho wrote, with a fury that even the relative restraint of his language could not quite conceal. He described the guard as speaking 'in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter.' The family, he added, was left shaken.

Jorginho did not name his stepdaughter in the post, though several publications including People magazine identified her as Ada Law.

The statement spread swiftly, landing squarely at the feet of the 28-year-old American singer; born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz who was in São Paulo to perform at Lollapalooza Brazil.

Chappell Roan Responds as Ada Law's Weekend Takes a Turn

Roan addressed the situation the following morning via Instagram Stories, careful to draw a line between herself and the guard's conduct.

She maintained that the individual who confronted the family was not a member of her personal security team, and insisted she had not seen the mother and child at all during breakfast. 'I do not hate people who are fans of my music,' she said. 'I do not hate children; like, that is crazy. I am sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something.'

She was unambiguous that Ada had been wronged. 'She did not deserve that,' Roan said, and went on to state she was personally unhappy with how the situation was handled. Whether that constitutes a full and satisfying response is, judging by the volume of reaction online, very much a matter of dispute.

Notably, Roan had reportedly shouted out her security team from the Lollapalooza stage during her set that same evening; a decision that, given the timing, raised a few eyebrows.

Catherine Harding, for her part, appeared to have made a quiet but deliberate choice about how to move forward. On Sunday evening she posted two photographs to social media; one of her daughter posing with Lewis Capaldi as he came offstage, another of Harding herself beside the 29-year-old Scotsman, best known for his hit Someone You Loved, who gave a cheerful thumbs up to the camera. Harding's caption was brief and pointed: 'Thanks for your kindness.'

The warmth in that image; a grinning child beside one of pop's most genuinely approachable figures stood in quiet contrast to everything that had come before it. Jorginho's post had closed with the remark that he doubted Shakira would have treated a child that way. It was the kind of comparison that tends to linger.
