Keith Urban has been left feeling 'numb' following his divorce from Nicole Kidman after their 17-year-old daughter Sunday failed to mention him in a recent Elle Australia interview published earlier this month, according to OK!. The country singer, 58, is said to be putting on a 'brave front' over the perceived snub, which comes just weeks after the former couple finalised their split and formalised a custody arrangement for Sunday and her younger sister, Faith.

The elder of Urban and Kidman's two daughters gave a rare solo interview in which she was asked about her influences. Rather than split the credit between her parents, the teenager focused entirely on her Oscar-winning mother, describing Kidman as her 'biggest inspiration in... life' and 'a key part of everything.' For those who have not been keeping up with the family's increasingly public unravelling, the comments landed at a particularly raw moment for Urban, who is still adjusting to life as a part-time parent under a court-approved schedule.

Urban Reels From Public Snub as Custody Deal Bites

According to an unnamed insider quoted in the report, Urban has been struggling privately with both the emotional fallout from the divorce and the practical reality of seeing less of his children. 'He's trying to put on a brave front,' the insider claimed, before adding that Sunday's omission had left him feeling 'like he doesn't exist.'

The Elle Australia piece cut more deeply than Urban expected. 'He knows he has to be patient; however, this latest snub so publicly, there in black and white – has stumped him,' the insider said. None of these remarks has been confirmed directly by Urban or his representatives and should be treated with caution, but they chime with earlier reports that the singer has found the separation far more bruising than he anticipated.

In the Elle interview, Sunday spoke warmly and at length about Kidman. She praised her mother's discipline and professionalism, saying the star had taught her to 'always be on time' because 'it shows that you're prepared and grateful to be there.' There was no mention of Urban's own global career, long touring schedule or public reputation as a hands-on father, it seems to be the cause of his pain, at least as described by the anonymous insider.

The teenager's interview appeared just over two months after Kidman and Urban officially ended their 19-year marriage. The pair separated in September 2025 and finalised their divorce on Jan. 6, bringing to a close one of the more durable high-profile relationships in Hollywood and the country music world.

Kidman Focuses on Daughters as Urban Struggles

Kidman addressed the split publicly in a March 11 cover story for Variety, giving her own, measured account of where things stand. She avoided direct criticism of Urban and declined to dissect the reasons for the breakdown, framing her priority instead as protecting their daughters.

'I'm always going to be moving toward what's good. What I'm grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That's that. Everything else I don't discuss out of respect,' Kidman said. She added that she is 'staying in a place of, "We are a family," and that's what we'll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.'

Court papers, as reported, show the former couple agreed to waive child support for both daughters and to cover their own legal costs. The time-split, however, is lopsided. Kidman will spend 306 days a year with Sunday and Faith, while Urban will have 59 days, described as 'every other weekend.' For a man who has often spoken about building his life around his family, that limited contact appears to be the most painful element of the settlement.

Earlier this year, according to OK!, Urban has been questioning whether he made the right decision in letting the marriage go. 'The emotional fallout has hit him far harder than he ever expected,' the insider said in February. 'What once felt like a necessary choice is now weighing heavily on him, and he's beginning to question whether walking away was the right call. With distance and time, the consequences of those decisions are settling in, and he's struggling to shake the feeling that he may have lost far more than he gained.'

A bleak picture emerges of his life without daily contact with Sunday and Faith. 'Being apart from his children has been the hardest part of all for Keith. He is having a really tough time coming to terms with the fact that the day-to-day family life he once had is no longer there, and that loss has hit him on a deeply emotional level,' the insider said.

While Urban reportedly wrestles with regret, Kidman is said to be taking a more pragmatic approach. A Feb. 16 report described the Big Little Lies star as single and not dating, with one insider insisting, 'She is not dating anyone, but she is a single woman. She is focused on her kids.' That stance aligns neatly with the image she projected in Variety, of a mother closing ranks around her daughters and choosing not to fan the gossip flames.

None of the recent, more intimate claims about Urban's state of mind has been independently confirmed by the singer or Kidman. Much of what has emerged comes filtered through unnamed 'friends' and 'sources,' who may each have their own loyalties and blind spots. What is clear, though, is that a single line in a glossy magazine profile, a daughter praising one parent and not the other, has become a small but potent symbol of a family still working out what life looks like after the end of a long marriage.
