Is Tiger Woods Going to Rehab After 2026 DUI Arrest? Golfer Is 'Seeking Treatment'
Woods prioritizes health and recovery after recent legal troubles

Tiger Woods confirmed that he's 'seeking treatment' after last Friday's car crash and DUI arrest.
There's hopeful news for Tiger Woods DUI situation on Tuesday, after he publicly acknowledged issues with his health. 'I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,' the superstar athlete shared in an Instagram Story on 31 March. 'I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.'

'This is necessary in order for me to prioritise my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,' Woods added, without referencing last Friday's DUI arrest.
'I'm committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.'
The announcement comes immediately after Woods entered a not guilty plea in the DUI case stemming from a 27 March crash on Florida's Jupiter Island. TMZ broke the news, noting Douglas Duncan as Woods' attorney of record at Tuesday's pretrial conferences.
Tiger Woods Car Crash and Arrest
Deputies found two loose hydrocodone pills in Woods' left pants pocket at the scene of the crash, where his Land Rover ended up on its side. Officers noted that he was 'lethargic and slow' and showed 'severe signs of impairment,' with eyes described as 'bloodshot and glassy' and pupils 'extremely dilated.'
Woods said he did not drink alcohol but had taken prescription medication earlier that day. He recalled looking down at his phone to change the radio station, and realising too late that another vehicle had moved into his lane.
Per the police affidavit, 'The driver of [the pickup truck] looked in his mirror and saw a dark colored Land Rover overtaking him at high speeds.' The Land Rover 'swerved to avoid a collision, but clipped the back end of the trailer' before it crashed.
Tiger Woods DUI Charge and Arraignment
Woods registered a 0.00 on the breathalyser, but he declined to submit a urine sample for testing. He was arrested after failing to pass multiple field sobriety tests. Police charged him with DUI with property damage, and refusal to submit a lawful test.

Woods is set to appear in court in May. Duncan's office has declined to comment publicly, telling TMZ, 'no comment,' while continuing to manage the legal strategy behind the scenes.
Three Prior Vehicle Mishaps Before Friday's Incident
A prominent criminal defence attorney in the Sunshine State, Duncan also represented Woods in 2017, when Jupiter Police found him asleep at the wheel while his car was running.
He tested positive for five different drugs, including hydrocodone, and was charged with improper stopping, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.
Woods pleaded guilty to reckless driving. He completed 50 hours of community service and 12 months of probation. He also agreed to be admitted into a DUI diversion program. It has not yet been confirmed if he will go through a similar rehabilitation program after Friday's DUI arrest.
Woods has been involved in two other vehicle incidents. In 2009, he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree with his car after pulling out of his driveway. Florida State Police cited him for careless driving.
Woods was also injured in a 2021 rollover crash just outside Los Angeles. 'This remains an accident. An accident is not a crime. They do happen, unfortunately,' Alex Villanueva, then Los Angeles County Sheriff, told CNN.
