Green Party Leader Zack Polanski Repeatedly Claims Hypnosis Can Boost Breast Size Despite Earlier Apology
Polanski maintains that his work was aimed at improving body image and that he regrets his involvement in the experiment.

Green Party leader Zack Polanski is facing renewed scrutiny after a resurfaced 2013 interview contradicted his long-standing assertion that he immediately apologised for claims that hypnotherapy could increase breast size.
'We've done it a couple of times, and there seems to be no shift, but actually, increasingly more and more as I work with people, there is starting to be anecdotal evidence at least of a growth in breast size,' he said.
While Polanski has maintained for years that he was misrepresented in a Sun newspaper article and issued a corrective apology the following day, BBC investigations have found no record of such an apology. Instead, footage has emerged from an interview with BBC Radio Humberside, recorded six days after the Sun article, in which Polanski appears to defend the practice and cite 'anecdotal evidence' of its efficacy.
A Controversial Claim Resurfaces
Zack, leader of the Green Party in England and Wales, has reiterated a longstanding belief that hypnotherapy can help increase breast size. His comments come after years of mixed messages and a recent BBC interview revealing he stood by the claim six days after publicly apologising.
The contradiction has stirred debate, forcing many to reconsider the politician's honesty and consistency. In 2013, before entering the political arena, Polanski was approached by a Sun journalist for a peculiar experiment.
A woman wanted to see if hypnotherapy could make her breasts bigger. Polanski agreed, and the session was documented in an article. At the time, Polanski expressed scepticism about the results, mentioning that no significant change had occurred but that he'd received anecdotal reports of growth from some clients. He claimed that the technique might work in theory and that his goal was to improve body image and confidence rather than to achieve actual physical change.
The Apology That Wasn't
Polanski has repeatedly insisted he immediately apologised for the 2013 comments, framing his remarks as misrepresented and taken out of context.
He said he used a BBC interview the day after the Sun article to clarify that he was not endorsing hypnotherapy as a miracle cure but rather exploring its potential for body positivity. However, the BBC has been unable to find that specific interview, raising doubts about the timing and sincerity of his apology.
Instead, an interview conducted six days later with BBC Humberside surfaced. In the footage, Polanski talks openly about a 'successful project' with the Sun journalist, mentioning attempts to increase breast size through hypnotherapy. He described the process as 'a couple of times,' with some anecdotal evidence suggesting a slight increase in breast measurements, though not in cup size.
He also acknowledged that he personally believed the technique could work in theory, but emphasised that he preferred sessions aimed at boosting confidence rather than altering physical traits.
A Pattern Of Contradictions
Polanski's stance appears inconsistent. In one breath, he claims to have apologised immediately; in another, he seems to stand by that claim, citing ongoing work with clients. His comments about 'a successful project' and anecdotal evidence suggest he still believes in hypnotherapy's potential, despite the controversy surrounding his initial claims.
A Labour source criticised Polanski for what they described as an inflated ego, asserting that his previous claims about hypnotic breast enlargement were 'absolute nonsense' and that he was called out for them years later. The source implied that the politician's claims were self-serving and lacked credibility.
'Zack Polanski's ego might have got bigger, but nothing else has. It's now clear that his pretence to have been misrepresented over his breast enlargement hypnosis scam was absolute nonsense – he got called out years later,' they said.
Reflections On Past And Present
Last year, Polanski addressed the Sun interview publicly, during his bid to lead the Green Party. He admitted to being a young man juggling multiple jobs, seeing the article as a way to discuss body image issues without resorting to surgery. He expressed regret, saying he had apologised and stood by it, yet his recent statements seem to contradict that stance.
A Green Party insider said the focus now is on pressing issues affecting ordinary people, like rising bills, the NHS, and public services. The controversy over his past comments about hypnotherapy appears to matter less to party officials than his current political priorities.
A Question Of Trust
The resurfacing of Polanski's claims about hypnosis and breast size leaves many wondering about his honesty. His repeated assertions, despite previous apologies, highlight a pattern of conflicting messages. For voters, especially those concerned about transparency and integrity, this episode underscores the importance of consistency in leadership.
As Polanski continues to push his political agenda, questions about his past claims and his true beliefs about hypnotherapy's potential are unlikely to fade away soon. For now, he remains a figure caught between past statements and present assertions, with the public watching closely.
