The investigation into the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas has taken a significant turn as a reported falling out between singer D4vd and his former associate, Neo Langston, draws renewed scrutiny to the case. Langston, who was arrested to compel his appearance before a grand jury, has indicated through social media posts that he holds key information about what happened to Rivas. Observers say this development could have serious implications for D4vd, born David Anthony Burke.

Langston has made no direct public allegation against D4vd, and D4vd has not been charged with any crime in connection with Rivas' death. However, Langston's public statements and his apparent willingness to cooperate with investigators have placed him at the centre of a case that continues to draw intense scrutiny following the discovery of a teenager's body in a vehicle owned by one of music's rising artists.

Langston Signals He Knows More Than He Has Said

In a recent televised segment, media commentator Harvey Levin detailed the falling out between D4vd and Langston, noting that the pair's friendship had completely soured and that the development amounted to 'bad news' for the singer. 'Neo clearly has beef with David, and that could really be bad for David because Neo says he knows a lot about Celeste Rivas and what happened to her,' Levin said.

Levin was referring to a statement Langston had shared on his Instagram Story, in which Langston said he would not make further public statements about the case while also referencing justice for Rivas and her family. Levin noted the statement was significant given that the coroner had reportedly encountered substantial difficulty establishing the cause of death. He also pointed out that Langston had referred to Rivas as a victim, language that suggests a homicide, and argued that Langston's willingness to speak, combined with his apparent animosity toward D4vd, could make him a critical witness.

'So here you have Neo who is furious at David, says he knows a lot about the case. He is calling Celeste Rivas a victim, suggesting a homicide. And clearly the DA believes Neo knows a lot because they went to the length of arresting him so he would appear before the grand jury,' Levin continued. 'So when you put all of that together, Neo could be a critical witness in this case.'

Langston Confirms the Rift, Alludes to What He Knows

Langston addressed the breakdown directly through a series of Instagram Story posts, confirming the falling out and calling D4vd a 'd*ckhead.' He also alluded to having specific knowledge of the circumstances surrounding Rivas' death, while stopping short of naming anyone.

'I understand due to my silence and the silence in general it leaves a void of information that everyone wants to fill. But at the end of the day this case isn't about me, it isn't about you, it's about getting justice for the victim and her family and I care a lot more about that then trying to fill that void because of public opinion,' he wrote. Langston added that he would refrain from sharing further public opinions on the matter, saying: 'In time the record will speak for itself and I'm moving on with my life.'

Rivas Found in D4vd's Tesla 16 Months After Going Missing

The case centres on the discovery of Rivas' body in a Tesla owned by D4vd. Rivas was reported missing in May 2024, and her body was found in the boot of the vehicle on 8 September 2025, 16 months after she first disappeared. Her family had reported her missing multiple times during 2024, and the precise timeline of how she came to be in the vehicle remains a central focus for investigators.

D4vd has been fully cooperative with authorities and has provided statements to assist the investigation. He has not been charged with any crime in connection with Rivas' death. The coroner has not yet established an official cause of death, and with Langston's potential testimony now drawing attention from prosecutors, the direction of the investigation remains unclear.
